Fire Maker Brewery in midtown Atlanta was our latest client! They needed two unique private label putter tap handles for their special Calamity Jane Blonde Ale. This beer was named after the putter used by Bobby Jones, an influential 20th-century golfer from Atlanta. We worked with Elliot and Rachel from Fire Maker Brewery to design a tap handle exactly as they pictured it. We incorporated the Fire Maker dragon logo, as well as the famous Calamity Jane golf club, into the design. Fire Maker’s Calamity Jane Blonde Ale was first served at the Bobby Jones Golf Course. It is a refreshing and slightly sweet beer.

The putter was a complex tap handle to design, given the many components which required different materials. The black steel portion is attached to a wooden piece, which is wrapped with a golf grip. The metal was 3D-printed by our design team, while the wood was carved by Mike, our “wood guy.” Since real-life putters are comprised of different materials, we decided there was no reason for ours not to be. Some golf clubs today are made entirely out of metal. However, we wanted ours to be authentic to the time period and stand out to beer enthusiast golfers as special.

This putter tap handle was truly an honor for us at Knockout Designs to create. We were excited to partake in the commemoration of a historical golfer. Our products ship all across the United States, and we now have tap handles in Atlanta!
