When Travis at 1Ō5 Brewing reached out to Knockout Designs for custom designed tap handles, he wanted something that reflected the character of his brand new coffee shop and brewery (opening on April 21st ) located in Billings, Montana. Knockout Designs wanted to create a tap handle that would blend seamlessly into the taproom’s inviting atmosphere while making the 1Ō5 Brewing brand stand out. Our solution was a custom sleek, round wooden tap marker with laser-engraved numbering, embodying the brewery’s minimalist yet bold identity.
The custom design features a smooth, natural wood finish that showcases the organic material. The rounded shape of the tap handle provides a comfortable grip for bartenders while maintaining a refined aesthetic. The brewery’s signature “1Ō5” is engraved into the surface, creating a striking visual contrast that highlights the brand’s simplicity and sophistication. The engraving adds depth and texture, reinforcing the handcrafted quality that 1Ō5 Brewing represents. Additionally, the Knockout Designs team crafted two different tap sizes: an 8-inch tap handle for standard taps and a compact 5.5-inch version for the taproom wall. The smaller handle serves as both a functional tool and a decorative element, adding cohesion to the overall taproom design. Its presence on the tap wall enhances the brewery’s ambiance, making the space feel curated and intentional.
